In 1919 with $500 and a horse and wagon, brothers David and Ernest Horn
set out to build a feed business in York County, Pennsylvania.
They did so with the firm belief that if they always took care of their customers
like they themselves would like to be treated, they would prosper. And prosper they
did, with a combination of outstanding quality and extraordinary customer service.
Today, Pennfield is still owned and operated by the Horn family with an unrelenting
emphasis on old-fashioned values and customer service. Over the years, Pennfield has
flourished, growing into a diversified national business, including high-tech feeds
for horses, dairy cattle and other animals.
